I’ve had my STC105NT, with a cedar top, for about 10 years maybe? Might be a little less, but one thingbis for sure, it’s a great sounding guitar and it is very easy to play. I did lower the action a little by sanding down the saddle nut a few years ago and I’ve lived it even more since. It sounds really good and it’s the guitar I take with me in trips since I’m not so afraid if it gets a minor scuff or ding. If you’re on a budget and want a guitar that plays above the $500 range this one is it!
I have had my Teton cedar top classical guitar for a couple months now. The cedar top produces warmer tones than my spruce top classical which I love for my style of playing. The playability is also very nice. I guess it’s the neck shape. Just feels natural. I think it’s a bit more shallow than my other guitar and that may be it. Sound is the priority for me and this instrument produces a clean and mellow sound on every string and projects nicely with very good sustain. It’s a nice contrast to the bright sound of spruce top. The other great thing about this guitar is that it is truly a beautiful instrument. The glossy finish brings out the beauty of the wood. The maple binding and inlays of the logo and rosette are beautiful and flawless. So far I have not found anything negative but then again I’m not a pro so I don’t have the experience to compare It to high end instruments. I am very happy with this instrument and highly recommend taking a listen and look at Teton guitars especially check out the sound of cedar top and see what you think.
