TOP WOOD

Sitka Spruce
Sitka Spruce

Sitka Spruce is the most well-rounded tone wood and is used on more guitar tops than any other wood. This is due to the tonal qualities and sonic projection of spruce. It has a nice even tone and does not accentuate any frequency above another in an overpowering way. Spruce also has a strong attack and does not get muddy at high volumes. This makes it a very versatile wood and makes those players with soft touches sound great and people playing with other instruments cut through the mix.

BODY SHAPE

Dreadnought - Electronics
Dreadnought - Electronics

The dreadnought body shape has been the most popular shape for decades now for a number of reasons. First, it has a nice balance between low, mid and high frequencies. Where some body shapes scoop the mid range, a dreadnought will bring the mid range up. This is important when playing with a group of instruments. The mid range of a guitar will stand out. Because of the tonal balance of a dreadnought, the sound does not get muddy and will be very articulate even when a player is a more aggressive picker.

ELECTRONICS

Fishman PRESYS+
Fishman PRESYS+

Fishman’s PRESYS+ preamp is designed to make your Teton guitar sound as great amplified as it does when you play it acoustically. The PRESYS+ has a three band EQ that allows you to fine-tune your tone and adapt to any situation you are in. The PRESYS+ also has Notch, Brilliance and Phase adjustments. This preamp is paired with a Fishman Sonicore pickup to reproduce your amazing natural Teton tone when plugging in.

I picked up this guitar at a little guitar shop in Seaside, OR. Got a great deal, but the thing that sold me was the way it played AND the sound of the instrument. I have a Taylor and I’m used to its sound, but playing the Teton – I just fell in love with its character. The sound was bit warmer, but had just enough bite to cut through a band mix. When I’m performing solo, I loop, so I had to find the sweet spot on how to use the Teton for my percussive sounds. But now that I’m used to it, I can use it just as well as the Taylor for looping. We also used the Teton in recording my new project. The tone in recording was really a nice contrast to the Taylor in the sense that we, again, got more of darker sound with the Teton. Love my STS150ENT and will definitely purchase another one in the future.

I was amazingly impressed with this guitar! Me and my buddy went into a small music store to pick up some new equipment and walked out with this. Me and my buddy honestly both thought it sounded better than our Martins. I have a mini and he has a performance. It feels great, looks great, and was made in the US. I recommend this guitar and company to anyone who performs or just likes to jam.
