TOP WOOD

Sitka Spruce
Sitka Spruce

Sitka Spruce is the most well-rounded tone wood and is used on more guitar tops than any other wood. This is due to the tonal qualities and sonic projection of spruce. It has a nice even tone and does not accentuate any frequency above another in an overpowering way. Spruce also has a strong attack and does not get muddy at high volumes. This makes it a very versatile wood and makes those players with soft touches sound great and people playing with other instruments cut through the mix.

BODY SHAPE

Grand Concert - Cutaway Electronics
Grand Concert - Cutaway Electronics

After we introduced our Grand Concert body shape, it quickly became one of our best selling shapes. We took many of the elements that make the grand concert popular, smaller body and deeper waist, and made a few updates, most notably the increased depth in the sides of the guitar. The small body and waist make the guitar comfortable to play and the increased depth provides more tone and volume. When you have a great sounding guitar that feels so good to play, it is easy to see why the grand concert has done so well for us.

ELECTRONICS

Fishman PRESYS+
Fishman PRESYS+

Fishman's PRESYS+ preamp is designed to make your Teton guitar sound as great amplified as it does when you play it acoustically. The PRESYS+ has a three band EQ that allows you to fine-tune your tone and adapt to any situation you are in. The PRESYS+ also has Notch, Brilliance and Phase adjustments. This preamp is paired with a Fishman Sonicore pickup to reproduce your amazing natural Teton tone when plugging in.

Been playing both electric and acoustic guitar off and on for years. Have a clunky old Epiphone acoustic that I have been wanting to update. Wanted something that felt and sounded nicer on a retirement budget. Looked at about everything Guitar Center had – Gibson, Martin, Seagull, and really liked the Taylors, but some of those were a little pricey. Went down to my local shop which carried the Tetons and must say they are some beautiful sounding instruments. I sat down for quite awhile with many different models. I absolutely love the STG130FMCENT. It’s a Grand Concert which is smaller than the Dreadnought and is a perfect fit for me. The sustain and beautiful tone kinda blows me away for the price compared to others that I played. Got it for Christmas and is hard to put down. And did I say it is gorgeous. Anyway, 5 stars from me; couldn’t be happier.
